NPFL: Rangers secure top spot, Akwa United record first away win

Rangers moved to the summit of the Nigeria Premier Football League following a 2-1 win over Heartland in Aba.
Emmanuel Onyebuchi and Kalu Nweke were the goal scorers for Rangers.
At the New Jos Stadium, Akwa United eased their relegation worries, edging out Plateau United 2-1.

Cameroon defender Gerome Heutchou opened the scoring for the visitors in the 10th minute, while Sunday Anthony equalised for Plateau United from the spot 13 minutes from time.
Sani Suleiman, however, netted the winning goal from another penalty in stoppage time.
It was Akwa United’s first away win of the season.
